Description

This malt is made from a higher protein but still regeneratively farmed spring barley compared to standard pale and extra pale malts. Germination times are restricted during malting to limit modification and low temperatures are used during kilning to ensure a light golden colour.

Solid Depth Lager Malt is under modified, which leads to a bready, earthy, clean, light grainy taste profile that’s ideal for lagers. Brewers will see a lower soluble nitrogen ratio and friability in this malt due to the restricted germination. Although a step mash programme is advisable, this malt will still be successful in a single strike isothermal mash tun.

Perfect for use in all lager styles (pilsner, bock, helles, etc).
